Welcome to my Professional portfolio

This portfolio showcases my work for the Writers’ Studio at Arizona State University. You’ll also see how my graduate studies in English at ASU informs my teaching practice.

I’m currently an instructor of First-Year Composition. Before that, I was a Writing Mentor. So what is a Writing Mentor?

Writing Mentors are course-embedded tutors. At least one of us is paired with every online section of first-year composition (FYC) offered by The Writers' Studio.

• We provide feedback and grading for discussion boards and peer reviews.

• We host weekly Writing Labs that are more casual and general, yet focused on students’ questions about course content.

• We also host Revision Workshops for each session's major projects.

• We create supplementary resources to help explain course content from different perspectives.

• We take part in professional development created by fellow Mentors in collaboration with Writers’ Studio administrators.
